Sara Bannister

Music Instructor

Sara Bannister was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Her musical story began when she started taking violin lessons at age 7, adding piano to her repertoire at age 8. As a violinist, Sara was accepted into the Denver Young Artists Conservatory Orchestra in 2015. As a pianist, she was a finalist in various competitions and classical festivals throughout Colorado. 


Sara was accepted into the Colorado Christian University School of Music and offered two audition-based scholarships. She completed her Bachelor of Music with a Vocal Performance emphasis in 2021. Sara sang at CCU in the University Women’s Choir as a second alto, and she was selected to perform the soprano solo of Mendelssohn’s Hor Mein Bitten at the CCU Masterworks concert in 2020.


Over the years, Sara has performed violin, piano, and voice at various church services, events, and venues. Sara has a huge heart for worship and has been actively involved in leading worship at her local church as well as other churches and events. She also loves hosting worship nights in her home with her husband.


Sara began teaching private piano lessons at the age of 14 and later taught piano, violin, and voice to child and adult students at Applewood School of Fine Arts in Colorado. In 2019, she directed the Applewood Baptist Children’s Choir. Sara spent some time living in Guatemala where she taught private music lessons to children in a local school as well as directing a Children’s Choir for kids in her town. 


Sara and her husband, Adam, are part of a touring music group called Songs for Revival. Sara is also a songwriter and has released an original single in English and Spanish.
