Piano lessons are one of our most popular choices at Pittsburgh School of the Arts. We love to introduce young students to piano for the first time or reignite the interest of older students who may have taken lessons in the past. Regardless of age, skill level, or genre, we would love to teach you!
Our beginner piano lessons start with a solid foundation in theory, sight reading, and technique. However, we like to balance that with a healthy dose of fun, making sure students are learning music that excites them and using games and rewards to teach difficult concepts. We employ a variety of method books based on student need and preferences, and encourage students to suggest their favorite songs to learn.
Our intermediate and advanced students are doing everything from placing high in regional competitions, to writing original music, to playing weekly on worship teams. Many of our piano instructors specialize in different genres and styles, but all are classically trained and can help you pursue your unique musical ambitions - or discover what they are.
Our private instructors are passionate about helping individuals of all ages and skill levels develop in their knowledge, experience, and personal musical goals. We seek to create a fun, yet disciplined environment that caters to every student's unique learning style.
Monthly tuition ranges from $115-210. Lessons are billed monthly via our online automatic payment system. Virtual and at-home lessons are available by request. Lessons are available in 30 minute, 45 minute, or 1 hour weekly increments.

To enroll in lessons, we require a credit card on file. Only digital payments are accepted. After signing up, one of our staff will reach out to you shortly to match your student with their teacher at their preferred day and time.
We will also send you instructions on how to log into our Student Portal. There, you can easily manage your payment information and schedule.
After you enroll, we highly recommend setting up automatic ACH payments in the Student Portal. If you set up ACH, then we will pay the processing fee for you. If payment is made using your credit card on file, there is a standard 3% processing fee.
Monthly tuition will be pro-rated if you begin lessons mid-month. For more information about payment, please view our FAQ page.
