Katherine Strakna (Kitty) is a versatile musical artist who seeks to connect others with their deepest selves through music. After training as a classical pianist since childhood, she shifted her focus to studying voice in college and is trained as an operatic mezzo-soprano. On the operatic stage, she has performed principal roles in many productions, as well as singing in choirs as a leader and soloist. She has also served in church music ministry for many years, specializing in performing liturgical choral repertoire, and currently holds a position as Alto Section Leader at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Kitty completed her undergraduate degree in Voice Performance at Towson University, before relocating to Pittsburgh to pursue her Master’s degree in voice at Carnegie Mellon University. She offers lessons in voice, piano, ukulele, and beginner percussion. She has a passion for teaching students of all levels and ages, helping them achieve their musical goals. She has prepared her students to perform in musical theater productions, local rock bands, choirs, and more.

When she is not making music, Kitty enjoys cooking, ice skating, and spending time with Pumpkin, her cat.
