Jim Tarpey

Jimmy Tarpey is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, singer, and worship pastor. He grew up in eastern Pennsylvania on a mixed foundation of rock and worship music, leading him to play for his local church and perform occasional gigs early on. He pursued formal music education at the University of Valley Forge, graduating in 2016 with a degree in Church Music, where he studied classical guitar, voice, and piano, and spent his summers touring as the electric guitarist for the school's worship bands.

After graduation, Jimmy balanced a variety of musical roles. He split his time between leading worship at a local church, performing as a session musician at Screaming Parrot Studios, and touring with a Philly-based punk band.

Now Jimmy lives in western Pennsylvania, serving as the worship pastor of Allison Park Church’s Butler campus and performing locally at weddings and various worship events. He enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Hannah and their growing family. Any given afternoon, you might find him sipping a double dirty chai, kids in tow, discussing the minutiae of Doctor Who, or nerding out about what string gauge was used on a particular guitar recording.

Jimmy has a passion for inspiring and equipping others on their own musical paths, helping them explore their potential, express their creativity, and grow in their musical journey. He teaches acoustic, electric and bass guitar, beginner piano and voice. Jim also helps to lead and coach our worship teams and rock bands.
