Alejandro Mijangos

Alex Mijangos is a professional bassist, musical director, composer, arranger and educator. Growing up in a musical family, Alex started piano lessons at the early age of 7 and moved onto the electric bass a few years later. By the age of 15, Alex was already playing gigs at local venues. His dedication to music rewarded him with multiple scholarships to attend the Penn State School of Music (B.M. and M.M.) where he had the opportunity of playing with multiple jazz masters such as Eddie Palmieri, Dayna Stephens, Fabian Almazan, Emmet Cohen, Gilad Heklselman, Vardan Ovsepian, Benny Benack III, Matthew Garrison, NEA Jazz Legend Benny Golson and more.
Alex has worked professionally with great musicians such as John Fedchock, Doug Walter, Corey Wallace, Chris Rogers, Tom Kozik, Marko Marcinko, Steve Rudolph and more. He currently lives in Pittsburgh where he plays with local projects such as Abstract Theory, Big Slime, Megan Paullet and the HR Department and more. Alex will teach beginner to advanced bass guitar, acoustic guitar, beginner piano, music theory, jazz studies & group lessons.
